Business Environment Employees Depart for Nepal!

Business Environment Centre Manager Yasmine Shah (Barbican) and Assistant Centre Manager Jade Armitage (Basingstoke) have today departed for an exciting two week volunteering adventure to Nepal, sponsored entirely by Business Environment.

The pair are now on their way to Nepal where they will be caring for children at an orphanage working under the guidance of local volunteers. They will receive basic instruction in Nepalese and work for five days a week with the children. In their spare time they will have the chance to explore the breath taking landscape that Nepal has to offer.

Although the trip is entirely funded by Business Environment, Jade and Yasmine have set up a fundraising page to raise extra cash for the orphanage at which they will be working and are delighted to have exceeded their £1000 target for the PoD charity through which the trip has been organised.

The trip comes as part of the Business Environment scheme that last year saw two employees travel to Cambodia to volunteer. The opportunity was open to all employees who were asked to submit three sentences as to why they wanted to go and what they could offer to the volunteering project.

Ahead of the experience, Jade said, “This truly is a unique opportunity. I am so grateful to everyone who has made this possible, both Business Environment and all of our sponsors – it means so much to us. We’re so happy to have reached our target! We can’t wait to get out and really make a difference.”

Yasmine added: “I’m so grateful and excited that Business Environment have given me the chance to take part in this year’s volunteering project in Nepal, where I can build relationships with new people and enjoy experiencing a new culture.  I am really looking forward to doing something so worthwhile, which will help me to become more evolved as a person!”

David Saul, Managing Director of Business Environment added, “We are very proud to be involved in such a brilliant programme. Jade and Yasmine really stood out as people who not only care about children, but have a passion for charity work. We wish them both the very best of luck on their trip and are sure they will do a fantastic job helping those who really need it.”
