Increase in office uptake is a good sign, says Officebroker.com

The increase in interest in office space in London and Manchester can be seen as a positive sign, according to Officebroker.com.

Simon Jones, research project manager for the company, said he saw the upturn in demand for serviced offices, as well as increasing prices, as a good sign for the industry and a reflection of the economy.

He added: “It’s a good sign people are getting in there. It suggests confidence is rising. But it all depends on the economy and it all depends on things keeping moving.”

Serviced offices in cities such as Manchester have had a particularly good uptake in recent months, and Mr Jones said he thought that was set to continue, as they provided flexible options for people seeking office space.

Jim Venables, managing director of the company predicted recently that office prices in central London would return to their pre-recession peak by the end of the year, and other regional cities would follow in the next 12 to 18 months.
