Some shared offices in London have won an award for promoting health and wellbeing among staff.
The office space in London where Headstrong UK is based was commended for its commitment to employees and rewarded with a top prize from the Simplyhealth healthy workplace award scheme.
Promotion of a balanced diet within the workplace was one of the things which Simplyhealth commented on, as well as the fact that every employee is able to take advantage of the corporate health insurance scheme, and offered discounted membership at a local gym.
James Glover, spokesman for Simplyhealth, said: “We run this award scheme because we want to recognise and encourage companies to care about the health of their people. We believe that companies can make a positive contribution to the health of our nation.”
Health Work Wellbeing, a cross government body focusing on wellbeing in the workplace, suggests that many employers can accommodate common health issues, leading to less sickness and absence, and better productivity.
