Paper vouchers are still popular

ServicedofficeBENews800734317

Staff are still being rewarded with paper vouchers, as they are a tangible and straightforward way of administering benefits, research has found.

The Voucher Shop discovered that 46 per cent of employers, in serviced, shared and commercial offices, were still handing out paper vouchers, preferring them over plastic ones.

Human Resources managers and executives were polled from a varied range of sectors for the research into employee benefits.

Gift vouchers have long been popular presents and there is something more concrete about the actual piece of paper as opposed to a piece of plastic, which looks like a credit card.

The alternative name, gift certificate, denotes the prestige associated with the idea of a paper voucher and what it represents in an employee benefits system.

Kuljit Kaur, head of business development at The Voucher Shop, said: “With no technical aspects such as activation codes or online balances to deal with, they are a hassle-free reward for the employee, which can be personalised and presented with style for maximum impact.”
