Trust, pride and camaraderie make companies great places to work

ServicedofficeBENews800781956

Trusting management, having pride in the company and healthy camaraderie are among the reasons stated for companies coming high up on the World’s best multinational workplaces list.

Compiled by the Great Place to Work Institute, the list saw Microsoft at the top with SAS, Net App and Google not far behind.

In making the list the reasons for offices and corporations being good workplaces were explored and access to development programmes, equipment and a good work-life balance were also stated.

Of the 25 companies across the globe awarded a place on the list, seven are active in the UK, including Diageo, O2 and Telefonica.

The Great Place to Work Institute stemmed from a commission in 1981 for two journalists to write a book entitled The 100 Best Companies to Work for in America.

Tom O’Byrne, chief executive at the Great Place to Work Institute, said: “Indeed, it is the support of everyone who works at these organisations which has lead to their recognition as among the world’s best.”
