Virtual offices to become the next big thing

The internet revolution has given us many things – pain free shopping, social networking and the ability to manage your finances at the push of a button.

But arguably the biggest change the internet has resulted in is radically overhauling the way we work.

Flexible hours and working on the move are quickly becoming the norm, which is why virtual offices in London are experiencing a huge growth in popularity.

And it’s not just big businesses that are levying the benefits of virtual offices, small and medium-sized enterprises want to let serviced offices that allow their employees to stay connected, wherever they might be.

According to Online Media Magic, it all started with hotdesking, but the flexible working market has evolved rapidly since those early days – with traditional office workstations only being used around 35 per cent of the time nowadays.

The firm claimed that modern virtual offices mean business owners no longer need to make compromises.

“Both small businesses and large enterprises realize the necessity of being mobile, but also need the business functionality of professional workplaces,” the company noted.

So popular are virtual offices that IDC claims the market for unified communications – the technology that underpins them – is set to double between now and 2014.
